The Sterling StingRay “Ray4” bass features a 9v active preamp, low noise humbucking pickups and a fully adjustable heavy duty bridge.
First designed in 1976 by Leo Fender and Tom Walker after the creation of the Music Man company, the StingRay with it’s active electronics and big humbucking pickup, was one of the most innovative electric basses to enter the market at the time.
Over the years it has proven to be a timeless instrument unrestrained by genre. Notable players have included Flea, Louis Johnson, Bernard Edwards (Chic), Cliff Williams (AC/DC), Tony Levin, Pino Palladino and many more!
