This Les Paul has been reverse bio-engineered. It started as a strange robot machine with machine heads that tune themselves. Thankfully it has been stripped of its robot-ness. Regular tuners have replaced whatever garbage Gibson popped on there from the factory. It is now putting on a brave face insisting it’s essentially a Gibson Les Paul. I suppose it is. It’s blue, but it’s got humbuckers and a bound neck. Those with a keen eye would recognise this as one of the guitars swept up in that that failed marketing experiment Gibson tried on in the mid 2000s. I remember walking into Allans Music in the Melbourne CBD back in 2006 and seeing business suit types grinning as they walked out of the store with these ‘investments’, back then they were around $6,500 a pop… at a similar time I paid substantially less for a ’59 Jazzmaster off eBay. This guitar is now $2200. That Jazzmaster is now, well… Includes a non original hardcase. Made in USA, Serial number RG1051.
