Welcome to today’s talk on weird Fender basses from the 1980s, I’ll be your host Echo Tony
Here we have a 1989 Fender Precision Bass Plus in Seafoam Green, and what a unique creature it is. Rumour has it this is the first Fender bass to come stock with 22 Frets and an extended upper horn to help improve balance. Dual Lace Sensor pickups in a P/J config, series-parallel toggle, and a 3 way switch set it apart from your more common or garden Fender bass varieties, and the seamfoam green colour gives it a very, how do you say, Yamaha Attitude-Esk vibe. You would be forgiven for thinking the bass belongs to the same family as the Japanese crafter Boxer bases, but it is native to the United States of America. I hope you have found this talk informative and we hope to see you next time.
If you are a bassplayer who loves Fenders but wants something a little different from everyone else, this is for you
Made in USA serial E328154 stamped Aug 89 on both neck and body.
